What starts as a small repair often becomes an opportunity for transformation. When this Woodland homeowner discovered water damage behind their primary shower wall, the resulting emergency repair left a hole in their closet and missing flooring—but also the perfect reason to remodel. Unsure whether this would be their “forever” bathroom or an upgrade for resale, they reached out to Parrish Construction Inc. to find the right balance of value, function, and longevity.

With a budget of $38,000, this project became a perfect example of our Luxury Bathroom Remodel tier—ideal for homeowners looking to upgrade style, comfort, and layout flexibility. The goal was to create a space that felt timeless and comfortable enough to enjoy long-term, while remaining a smart investment for future resale.

The Transformation

The Redefined Shower Area

One of the homeowners’ first requests was to remove the unused bathtub, freeing up space for a larger, more open shower layout. The original 36″ x 42″ enclosure felt small, dark, and dated, boxed in by frosted glass. We expanded the footprint to 48″ x 48″ and designed a shower that feels bright, airy, and refined. To add both function and style, we built in a tiled niche for storage and tiled the walls floor-to-ceiling with Cloe by Bedrosians, giving the space a fully custom, elegant look.

The Flooring and Ditra HEAT

Comfort was another key priority. We installed Ditra Heat radiant flooring (240V) beneath Vanilla Brushed marble tile from Floor & Décor, providing efficient, consistent warmth—an especially thoughtful addition for aging-in-place comfort.

Completed within the $38,000 budget, this Woodland primary bathroom remodel turned a simple water repair into a complete transformation. The homeowners gained a brighter, more comfortable, and better-organized space—one that feels luxurious without excess and timeless without trend chasing.
